During last year’s Podcast Expo, Gigavox Media introduced “The Levelator”
The Levelator is like a magic wand for your podcast. Have you ever had the problem of having two different audio levels and try to get them both set to the same level. For example, you do a phone interview and your level is much higher than the interviewee’s level. Well, the Levelator fixes that problem. It’s not a compressor, normalizer or limiter although it contains all three.

The user interface is ultra simple. Simply drag your file over to the Levelator window and the process begins. The Levelator does not destroy the original file. It simply creates a new file with “.output” appened to the file name.
The Levelator is a free download for non-commercial use. Just visit Gigavox Media.
The Levelator is available for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

I’m looking forward to this year’s Podcast & New Media Expo. The expo is scheduled for Sept 28-30, 2007 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, CA.
Tim and Emile Bourquin have extended the Expo to 3 days from 2 days. Two of the new additions are the concert and video festival. Of course, with the extra day you will have additional seminars, more trade show time, and best of all more networking time.
Most all the major players in podcasting, audio and video, will be at the Expo. This is a great opportunity to build on your podcasting expertise and to meet some great experts in the field.
I attended last year’s expo and have plans to attend this year. I hope to see you there.
For more info go to http://www.newmediaexpo.com.
The early-bird registration fee is $249. The early-bird cut-off is June 30th.

Today must be Paris Hilton Day.
The only thing on TV is Paris Hilton. I feel bad for her, but she’s a big girl and she has to follow the rules like the rest of us… nuff said…
Anyway, someone should start a Paris Hilton Podcast and do daily updates about Paris Hilton’s incarceration. I’m sure there would be tons of listeners.
Hum… Is ParisHiltonPodcast available? probably not…

These were originally priced over $80 back when I bought my set a couple of years ago. Plantronics have them on clearance for $24.95.
